Two remarkable turnarounds in form took place in the Sheffield Shield games discussed here. In mid-December 1900 Clem Hill scored 365 not out of South Australia’s 576 to give it a win by an innings and 36 runs over New South Wales and three weeks later NSW scored 918 to reverse the result by an innings and 605 runs. Over Christmas 1926 Bill Ponsfored made 352 of Victoria’s world-record score of 1107 to defeat NSW by an innings and 656 runs and a month later NSW dismissed the same opponents for 35 in a win by an innings and 253 runs.
