An archive of occasional football writing from various sources, beginning in a football newspaper and thereafter appearing in academic journals, historical newsletters and websites. The essays and articles cover a nearly 50-year span from the 1970s to the 2020s, some wise, some naive, some seriously academic, more light-hearted, many reflective and thought-provoking, maybe a few making not much sense at all.
