In 2003 I updated Chris Harte’s A History of Australian Cricket (1993) by adding the last four chapters dealing with the previous ten years. I added 22,000 words beginning with ‘That Ball’ of Shane Warne’s to Mike Gatting and covering the end of Allan Border’s captaincy, the Taylor and Waugh captaincy years and ending with the 2003 World Cup. The book was published in a second edition in England by Andre Deutsch and in Australia titled The Penguin History of Australian Cricket under the Penguin imprint. In 2008 I updated the book for a third edition, adding another 15,000 words which means I have contributed six chapters or 80 pages. The book was retitled The History of Australian Cricket and published by Carlton Books in the UK and again under the Penguin imprint in Australia.
